| Another LNA raid on Zuwara: report |

| [Libya Herald] Two people were reported injured today in a Libyan National Army (LNA) air raid on the Amazigh town of Zuwara, some 60 kilometres from the Tunisian border. According to the front man for the town's security room, a Counter-Crime Agency building was the hit. He said the two injured people were agency staff and that there was some damage to the building. Unconfirmed reports also claimed there were LNA There have been a number of air strike on Zuwara in the past three months, the most deadly being that on 2 December when at eight people were said to have been killed. Last week, LNA aircraft hit Zuwara airport for the first time, although no serious damage was reported. Zuwara, the hometown of continuing General National Congress president, Nuri Abu Sahmain, is allied with Libya Dawn ...aka Fajr Libya, the Islamist operation launched to counter that of General Khalifa Haftar (Operation Dignity). It is made up of the Libya Shield militia (Misrata and Moslem Brotherhood), Libya Revolutionaries Operations Room (Moslem Brotherhood), and Tripoli Brigade (close to Abdul Hakim Belhaj, head of Al-Watan party). Financing and moral support come from Turkey and Qatar... (LD), but this is seen as more connected to Zuwara's hostility to Zintan than any deep support for LD. |
