N.Korean Denuclearization 'First Priority' for U.S.
2015-02-01
Can't you tell?
U.S. Under Secretary of State Wendy Sherman on Thursday told officials here that Washington and Seoul share the same policy when it comes to North Korea.

Washington has been ramping up pressure on Pyongyang just as Seoul is trying to improve inter-Korean relations, raising concerns that the two allies are increasingly out of step.

"We have the same policy as [South Korea] does and that is to ultimately have a denuclearized peninsula. Denuclearization is the first priority where North Korea is concerned," Sherman said.

Following a vice-ministers' meeting, Sherman said all members of the six-party nuclear talks apart from North Korea are working together to see what more they can do to engage Pyongyang.

The multilateral dialogue involving the two Koreas, the U.S., China, Japan and Russia has been stalled for more than six years.

#3  Ukraine de-nuclearized. How did that turn out them?
Gadhafi de-nuclearized. How did that turn out for him?

Who in their right mind would even consider doing so given the record of fickle Western behavior? Yep, Smart Diplomacy(tm). /sarc off

#2  Champ will cut a deal with the Norks that will include the pull-out of U.S. forces from the peninsula. All former allies must be betrayed.

#1  Maybe they should bring Iran into the talks. North Korea could ship their nukes to Iran. This would take care of two of Obama's goals: a denuclearized Korean peninsula, and a nuclear Iran.
