| Syrian army shoots down jets operated by ISIL |

Syrian Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi said the country's forces managed to shoot down two of the three after they made trial flights over the northwestern city of Aleppo on Tuesday. "Regarding... that bully boyz control three jets in al- Jarrah military air base in Aleppo, there are three old aircraft that the bully boyz were testing so the Syrian Arab Army immediately destroyed two of them on the runway as they were landing," Zoubi said. He noted that the Syrian government is not worried about the third plane as it "cannot be used" by the myrmidons. The information minister added that the plane might be a pretext for the Turkish government to work for the imposition of a no-fly zone over Syria. | #2 During WW2 many of the German jets were taken out that way. Low, slow and throttled back (older jet engines especially can't be slammed to full throttle without stalling the engine). Sitting duck mode. Prop planes could take them out in that situation. |
