| Misrata force accuses Zintanis of attacking Tripoli fuel depot |

| [Libya Herald] Central Region Libya Shield ...a conglomerate of pro-Islamist militias deployed across Libya. It reports to the Libyan defense ministry and is organized like a real army unit. Its commander used to head a Benghazi brigade called Free Libya Martyrs... , which is based in Misrata and is part of the alliance that is trying to dislodge the Zintani Qaaqaa and Sawak brigades from Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... International Airport, has accused the Zintanis of deliberating bombing the fuel tanks at the Brega Oil and Gas Marketing Company's fuel depot on the Airport Road. In a statement issued overnight, the Misrata unit also laid blame for the situation on the government, saying that claiming that that it manufactured crises to enable it to control the Libyan public. It accused it of not being impartial. The Zintanis, who control the area where the depot is located, have already accused the Misratans of targeting it. Although issued overnight, the statement was in fact primarily an announcement that Central Libya Shield would observe yesterday's 24-hour ceasefire mediated by Tripoli Local Council to enable firefighters to deal with the blaze at the depot. In the event the ceasefire lasted just six hours. |
