The hottest thing on Sunday, May 5, was in the Bakhmut direction, where Ukrainian defenders repelled 32 attacks by Russian troops.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published operational information about the Russian invasion as of the evening of Sunday, May 5.
“During the day, 103 military clashes were recorded. In total, the enemy carried out 2 missile and 100 air strikes, carried out 57 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there were wounded. Multi-story buildings were damaged. and private houses, as well as other infrastructure facilities,” the General Staff said in a statement.
In the Kupyansky direction, Ukrainian fighters repelled 11 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Sinkovka, Peschanoe, Berestovo in the Kharkov region; Stelmakhovka, Lugansk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to improve the tactical situation.
In the Liman direction, the Defense Forces repelled four attacks in the areas of the settlements of Novosadovo and Torskoye, Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, our soldiers repelled 32 attacks in the areas of Belogorovka settlements, Lugansk region; Verkhnekamennoye, Spornoye, Vyemka, Novy, Razdolevka, Ivanovskoye and Andreevka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to improve the tactical situation.
In the Avdeevsky direction, our defenders repelled 24 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Novoaleksandrovka, Novopokrovskoye, Umanskoye, Yasnobrodovka and Netaylovo in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to oust our units from their occupied lines.
In the Novopavlovsk direction, the Defense Forces continue to contain the enemy in the areas of the settlements of Konstantinovka, Krasnohorivka, Vodyanoye and Urozhaynoye in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried 16 times to break through the defenses of our troops.
In the Orekhovsky direction, the enemy, with the support of aviation, attacked the positions of our defenders five times in the area of Staromayorskoye, Donetsk region, and Robotinoye, Zaporozhye region.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy, with the support of aviation, made two unsuccessful attacks on the positions of our troops in the area of the village of Krynki, Kherson region.
During the day, Defense Forces aircraft carried out strikes on 13 areas where personnel were concentrated and four enemy anti-aircraft missile systems. The missile force units hit one area where enemy personnel were concentrated, three radar stations, two air defense systems and two enemy artillery weapons.
Let us remind you that tonight the Russian military attacked Ukraine with 24 Shaheds, 23 of which were destroyed by Ukrainian air defense.
It was previously reported that from February 24, 2022 to May 5, 2024, the total combat losses of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine amounted to approximately 474,260 people.
