United States agrees to withdraw armed forces from Niger

[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The United States of America has reached an agreement with the Nigerien authorities to withdraw its forces, numbering more than a thousand soldiers, from the African country.

Agence La Belle France-Presse quoted American officials as saying that US Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell agreed to the Niamey authorities’ request to withdraw forces, during a meeting in Washington with Prime Minister Ali Lamine Zein.

The agreement stipulates sending an American delegation to Niger in the coming days to agree on the details of the withdrawal.
