Shocking moment mob turn the tables on violent prowler after he was seen punching a woman on NYC street amid flurry of random attacks
2024-04-10
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A pack, not a herd.
  • The attack happened on 14th and Seventh Avenue, and was filmed by a witness

  • It comes amid reports of women being assaulted in Chelsea and the East Village

  • A group is seen descending on the man within seconds of him hitting the woman

They are seen descending on the man within seconds of him hitting the middle-aged victim, leaving him unconscious on the pavement. The crowd then disperses into the night - as if nothing ever happened.

It is unclear when the incident took place, but the footage was circulating Monday. DailyMail.com has reached out to the NYPD for comment, as the attacks - mostly confined to the Lower East Side and Chelsea - continue.

#10  The crowd then disperses into the night - as if nothing ever happened.
Alternative hypothesis: the 'mob' was The Mob, or a street gang. "'Dis is our turf and we don't wanna see Aunt Mabel get thumped by this jackass!"

#9  WIKI cite: "The 1851 Committee of Vigilance...promulgation of a written doctrine declaring its aims"

"WHEREAS it has become apparent to the citizens of San Francisco, that there is no security for life and property, either under the regulations of society as it at present exists, or under the law as now administered; Therefore the citizens, whose names are hereunto attached, do unit themselves into an association for the maintenance of the peace and good order of society, and the preservation of the lives and property of the citizens of San Francisco, and do bind ourselves, each unto the other, to do and perform every lawful act for the maintenance of law and order, and to sustain the laws when faithfully and properly administered; but we are determined that no thief, burglar, incendiary or assassin, shall escape punishment, either by the quibbles of the law, the insecurity of prisons. the carelessness or corruption of the police, or a laxity of those who pretend to administer justice.[6]"

#6  Now that information is readily available, vigilante justice won't be so bad.

#5  Agile. Seem to be dressed alike. Fade out as in a drill. On the spot in seconds.

Kinda like the old Guardian Angels, eh?

#4  If the police won't protect us, the people will.
Of course, since this happened in NYC, the police will likely use the video to find the mob and prosecute them.

#1  Incidentally, that's how civil order works. If people don't care, no number of cops will work.
