Russian troops consider this settlement as key for continuing the offensive against Konstantinovka and the Kramatorsk-Slavyansk agglomeration.
The Russian troops are accumulating their forces in the east of Ukraine and, as of now, one of the “powerful breakthroughs” of the Russian army is taking place at Chasov Yar, Donetsk region. This was stated by Ilya Yevlash, spokesman for the press service of the operational-strategic group of troops Khortitsa, on Radio Liberty.
According to him, Russian troops consider this settlement as key for continuing the offensive against Konstantinovka and the Kramatorsk-Slavyansk agglomeration.
“The enemy does not spare his efforts, tries to take advantage of the moment - for quite a long time he uses the tactics of “running where the rain is,” looking for weak points. And at the slightest opportunity to break through the defense somewhere, he strengthens his groups and takes assault actions,” Yevlash noted.
He added that several defense circles have been built near Chasovoy Yar. There are also minefields in this direction - both anti-tank and anti-personnel; embankments and anti-tank ramparts have been made to impede the advance of heavy equipment of the Russian army.
“We had been preparing for the defense of Chasovoy Yar for a long time, even when the enemy was able to capture Bakhmut. Of course, it was clear that it was necessary to equip additional lines of defense, more advantageous ones. Since the next largest settlement in this direction was Chasovoy Yar,” said Yevlash.
He added that the Russian army is trying to find weak points, and in those sectors of the front where they manage to break through, the Russian military is intensifying assault operations. According to Yevlash, they carry out their main attacks using mortars, and are also increasing the use of aircraft.
“Over the past 24 hours in the Bakhmut direction, the enemy used its aviation six times, also carried out 52 strikes with its kamikaze drones, fired at our positions 659 times. There were also four clashes, during which the enemy lost 100 of its occupiers killed and wounded and 101 units of weapons and equipment,” said a representative of the press service of the operational-strategic group of troops Khortytsia.

As reported, according to the General Staff, 83 clashes took place at the front.

According to him, the Russian troops consider this settlement as key for the continuation of the offensive on Kostiantynivka and the Kramatorsk-Slovyansk agglomeration.
"They are accumulating their very powerful forces, and as of now, this can be considered one of their powerful thrusts on Chasiv Yar... Access to Chasiv Yar will open the enemy's way to continue their offensive actions, a springboard for the offensive on Kostyantynivka. And of course, the main goal in the Donetsk region is the Kramatorsk-Slovyan agglomeration. Therefore, the enemy does not spare his efforts, he tries to take advantage of the moment - for quite a long time he uses the "run where it pours" tactic, looking for weak points. And at the slightest opportunity to break through the defense somewhere, he strengthens his groups and resorts to assault actions," said Ilya Yevlash.

As the spokesman of the "Khortytsia" military service reported, the Russian army is trying to find weak points, and in those areas of the front where it is possible to break through, the Russian military is intensifying assault operations. "During the past day, the enemy used its aircraft six times in the Bakhmut direction, also struck 52 times with its kamikaze drones, shelled our positions 659 times. There were also four combat clashes, during which the enemy lost 100 of their occupiers killed and wounded and 101 samples of military weapons and equipment," said Ilya Yevlash.
Meanwhile, General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi reported that the enemy is increasing the intensity of shelling in the Avdiyiv direction and has some local successes. For its part, the Defense Forces continue to conduct a defensive operation, in some places they restore lost positions.
In the morning, the General Staff reported that 83 combat clashes took place at the front during the past day. The enemy launched three rocket and 91 air strikes, fired 142 rounds of anti-aircraft fire.
