They could all be fed the next day if Hamas & Friends laid down their weapons and signed a peace treaty with Israel. Or even just laid down their arms. | [GEO.TV] World Food Programme (WFP) Director for Emergencies Samer Abdeljaber has said that there is enough food stocked up across Gaza’s borders to feed the entire population, but it cannot safely reach the war-torn population due to the violence and extensive security checks by the Israeli oppressor forces.
Abdeljaber said: “We have enough food across the borders, even from Jordan and Egypt, to be able to support 2.2 million people.”
“But we need to make sure we have the right access to Gaza from different crossings so that we can actually reach the people – whether they are in the north or the south or in the central areas.”
“Safe routes is one of our requirements to continue assistance to the north and that can only be guaranteed if that is a speedy process,” the UN official added. |
