Fani Willis accused of hiring a man she was in a romantic relationship with to prosecute Donald Trump and play a prominent role in the election interference case, bombshell court documents claim

  • Trump co-defendant Michael Roman included charges in bombshell filing

  • It alleges that Fani Willis had 'romantic' relationship with private lawyer

  • Nathan Wade is special prosecutor assisting her office

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has been accused of hiring a private lawyer she was in a 'romantic' relationship with to prosecute Donald Trump, according to a stunning filing by one of the former president's co-defendants.

The bombshell allegations are included in a filing by Michael Roman, a former Trump campaign official who is accused of taking part in the 'fake electors' scheme as one of 18 people charged in the state along with Trump.

The public court filing, which seeks the dismissal of charges against him, alleges that Willis was in a personal relationship with private lawyer Nathan Wade, who was paid more than $600,000 as a special prosecutor assisting her office's sprawling probe of Trump's election overturn effort.

The filing doesn't provide documentary proof of the allegations. It states that 'sources close to both the special prosecutor and the district attorney have confirmed they had an ongoing, personal relationship.'

The motion states the gravity of the allegations. 'The instant Motion is not filed lightly. Nor is it being filed without considerable forethought, research or investigation,' according to the filing.

'Nonetheless, this Motion must be heard, as the issues raised herein strike at the heart of fairness in our justice system and, if left unaddressed and unchecked, threaten to taint the entire prosecution, invite error, and completely undermine public confidence in the eventual outcome of this proceeding.'

It states that the pair engaged in 'a personal, romantic relationship that has ultimately yielded substantial income to the special prosecutor.'

The filing makes reference to a sealed divorce filing for the married special prosecutor, but then goes on to make the claim based on other information.

It states that 'information obtained outside of court filings indicates that the district attorney and special prosecutor have traveled personally together to such places as Napa Valley, Florida and the Caribbean and the special prosecutor has purchased tickets for both of them to travel on both the Norwegian and Royal Carbibean cruise lines. Traveling together to such places as Washington, D.C. or New York City might make sense for work purposes in light of other pending litigation, but what work purpose could only be served by travel to this traditional vacation destinations?'

DailyMail.com has reached out to Willis' office and Wade for comment.

A Willis spokesman told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the DA’s office would respond 'through appropriate court filings.'

'The district attorney chose to appoint her romantic partner, who at all times relevant to this prosecution has been a married man,' according to the filing.

It says the DA and Wade 'have been seen in private together in and about the Atlanta area' and are 'believed to have co-habitated in some form or fashion.'

It further states that there is 'no evidence' Willis was 'authorized' by the county to use funds to retain Wade for the case.

Roman was charged this summer with alleged crimes including taking part in a racketeering conspiracy, conspiracy to commit forgery, and conspiracy to file false documents, all in connection with a scheme to submit fake Republican electors who would cast votes for Trump in place of electors to reflect Joe Biden's certified victory in the state.

When should we expect and indictment for this felony level charge covered by OCGA & US Code regarding malicious criminal prosecution, violating civil rights, abuse of public funds and more?
