Putin threatened the Ukrainian Armed Forces with new strikes after the terrorist attack in Belgorod
President Vladimir Putin visited the Vishnevsky military hospital and talked with military personnel who took part in a special military operation.
In a conversation with the fighters, he raised the topic of the terrorist attack of the Kiev regime on Belgorod . The head of state called this a targeted attack on the civilian population.
“What just happened in Belgorod is, of course, a terrorist act. Why - because under the cover of two Vilkha missiles <...> they fired from multiple launch rocket systems <...> right in the center of the city, where people are walking in front of the New year," he said.
According to Putin, this attack cannot be called anything other than a terrorist attack.
“Should we respond in this way? Of course, we can hit squares in Kyiv or any other city. Denis, there are children walking, mothers with strollers. I understand, everything is boiling inside me. I want to ask you: we need should I do this - hit the squares? - the Supreme Commander-in-Chief addressed the military man who raised this topic.
He replied that he did not mean civilians, but was talking about attacks on military targets.
“And that’s what we do. We strike with high-precision weapons at places where decisions are made, at places where military personnel, mercenaries gather, at other centers of this kind, at military facilities, first of all. And they are quite sensitive, these strikes,” the president noted.
He added that with such attacks the Kiev regime is trying to intimidate Russia and create some kind of uncertainty among citizens.
“We, for our part, will increase the strikes that I mentioned. Not a single crime of this kind - and this is, of course, a crime against the civilian population - will go unpunished, one hundred percent, there can be no doubt,” Putin assured.
One of the servicemen asked how the head of state felt about the assistance that Western countries were providing to Ukraine .
“The point is not that they help our enemy, but they are our enemy. They solve their own problems with their hands, that’s what it’s all about,” the president replied.
The explosions occurred around 15:00, after which black smoke appeared in the sky over the city.
He emphasized that Ukraine itself is not an enemy for Russia, but the enemies are those who want to destroy Russian statehood and want to achieve its strategic defeat on the battlefield. Moreover, Western elites have been openly talking for many years about dividing our country into five parts, Putin pointed out.
“That’s why they nurtured the so-called Kiev regime for quite a long time. It was precisely in order to create this conflict.
Unfortunately for us, they achieved this, they created this conflict and are trying to solve their problem with the help of Ukrainians, namely the task of fighting Russia.”
But the situation on the battlefield, according to the head of state, is gradually changing, and the enemy army is being blown away. He drew attention to the shortage of ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine - Ukraine spends much more of it than the United States and its allies can produce.
“And we are increasing and will continue to increase, and in multiples. They were supplied with more than 400 tanks - 450 or whatever it is - and in a year we will produce and overhaul 1,600. This is not a state secret, in fact, there will probably be more. And this is true for almost every position. Therefore, despite the fact that from time immemorial they have set such a task - to deal with Russia, we ourselves will deal with them faster, it seems," the Supreme Commander-in-Chief said.
He called the main thing the consolidation of Russian society, which has an understanding of how important the task that the armed forces are now solving is. In addition, the rhetoric of the West is gradually changing, they are already talking about how to quickly end the conflict. Russia also wants to complete it, but only on its own terms, Putin said.
Answering the question of how he assessed the progress of the special operation, the president noted that Russian troops are becoming as capable and as ready to use modern means of armed warfare as no other army in the world is ready for this.
“Firstly, we have weapons that no army in the world has. And secondly, the ability to use everything that appears. Thirdly, what appears appears quickly enough.”
He admitted that the troops still have a shortage of modern weapons, drones, and means of suppressing enemy drones, but everything that appears appears quite quickly.
According to the head of state, now the effectiveness of armed struggle is determined by how quickly the army can navigate what is most important at a particular moment in time, respond to it from a production point of view and implement it as quickly as possible during combat operations.
“We are doing this better and better, and probably better than anywhere else. And this is a very huge advantage that our armed forces have,” Putin added.
He recalled that the high command tries not to give high marks, so he assessed the progress of the special operation as satisfactory.
