#11  Only from Vegas to Victorville, so I didn't get that at first.

Silver Lake (near Dodger Stadium) to outside Victorville on 15 took us almost 3 hours the last time I drove that little joy of a route.

If I recall, from there it was less than 3 hours to the strip.

#10  Google Maps shows its a 4-hour trip now. So if you assume time for the drive to Union Station in L.A., parking, checking in your luggage, and boarding, and getting your baggage and rental car in Las Vegas, Jojo is spending 3-6 BILLION tax dollars for people who make the trip to save an hour of travel time.

#8  a major difficulty is to get from LA to central San Bernadino county requires using a relatively low capacity commuter rail

the capacity of the proposed service from Victorville to Vegas is about 50 times the capacity of the commuter rail

#7  It's to be routed through Cajon Pass, Frank?

Haven't seen a proposed route map, but that would be tricky at best.

#5  Brightline opened to Orlando recently, but terminates at Orlando Airport, made improvements along existing freight tracks it shares, built 50 miles of new track from Canaveral to Orlando, runs at 125 mph.

$3BN-plus invested, but no Federal money.

#4  ^ Nope. That has a 100+ mile run from nowhere to nowhere with no real ridership, courtesy of the Dem lies to get it on the ballot. The Vegas train stops at Victorville under current plans.
