President Joe Biden is directing the US government to take a sweeping approach to artificial intelligence (AI) regulation
2023-10-31
[PUBLISH.TWITTER] Good idea, Joe. Construct a bureaucracy led by ham-fisted political science and psych majors who have no idea what they're actually "regulating" and turn 'em loose with minimal supervision where they're in a position to retard progress for the next hundred years. It'll be kinda like an EPA for science!

#9  Example of equity in AI. "Find me the best chicken sandwich restaurant." You will get something that is sub par but their DEI score is 100.

#7  Democrats never saw anything they didn't want to regulate. But, really, what is AI? It's just the latest buzzword for software in an industry that loves it some buzzwords. They're hoping their customers won't know any better. So when Joe signs an executive order to regulate AI he is really regulating software, regulating the entire computer industry in ways that we've all been able to do without since computers were invented. Can't wait for the court challenges.

#6  Getting Biden and Harris takes on AI is as valuable to my a literary criticism of Chaucer by Larry the Cable Guy.

#5  ^ for some reason I can't find that in the enumerated powers of the national government. I'm sure you can spend a little effort to get SCOTUS to find some umbra to excuse your assumption of powers.

#2  Given the accepted premise that JB's is a walking empty head, and others are AI thinking for him.

Does that mean JB will regulate himself then?

#1  Government control is the ultimate goal. With control comes the ability to levy licenses, harvest taxes and kickbacks.

Government regulation is the antithesis of free market.
