EU states tell Zelensky they won't hand over draft dodgers |
2023-09-14 |
[RT] The Czech Republic announced on Wednesday that it would not send military-age men who came as refugees back to Ukraine to be conscripted. Germany, Austria and Hungary have already made similar declarations. European conventions exclude extradition for things such as desertion or draft evasion, Justice Ministry spokesman Vladimir Repka told the outlet iDnes. However, he added that if Ukraine files individual extradition requests citing a specific criminal act they may have committed, Prague may give them consideration. Hungary has ruled out any extraditions outright. "We are not investigating any Ukrainian refugees to determine if they have been called up for military service. Hungary will not extradite them to Ukraine," Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén told the outlet ATV on Wednesday. "All refugees from Ukraine are safe in Hungary." |

#6 They aren't handing over Russian 'immigrants' either... Canadians refused to send American draft dodgers home during the Vietnam War. Wow. What if they held a war and nobody came? |

#5 These men are badly needed by Ukraine as they are simply running out of military aged men. This is why we will likely see US troops engaged on the ground in 2024. Remember, a nuclear war is better than letting the Russians win. |
