This should be a no-brainer, but apparently for some people it is not. [IsraelTimes] The High Court of Justice rules that state prosecutors as well as lawyers who are employed by the state are not allowed to take part in the mass protests against the government’s judicial overhaul plans.A three-justice panel rejects an appeal against a lower court ruling on the issue, writing that while they have no intention of curbing free speech, they also must give weight to balancing issues, including “public faith in state officials and objectivity of employees of public legal services.” Active IDF soldiers above the rank of lieutenant colonel are also not allowed to participate in protests. |
