[RusOnline] 06/29/2023 After the Wagner rebellion, many are waiting for the urgent resignation of Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. Tsargrad writes about this. It seems inevitable, because in the eyes of society he is responsible for everything that happens in the Armed Forces, and therefore for the rebellion too. But not everything is so simple. Many, under the influence of emotions, forget how Russian President Vladimir Putin conducts personnel policy.
Experts agree that Putin is a master of unexpected personnel decisions. For example, Mikhail Fradkov, who was appointed Prime Minister of Russia in 2004. Nobody expected this. Fradkov's name was not mentioned either in forecasts or analytics, or in the media.
Only one person knew about everything - Vladimir Putin. Then the decision to appoint Fradkov shocked the political elites. They also did not expect the appointment of Sergei Shoigu's predecessor, Anatoly Serdyukov, to the post of Minister of Defense in 2007. The appointment of the current Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin also came as a surprise. Mishustin was almost the same "dark horse" as Fradkov at one time.
And Dmitry Medvedev did not just leave, he received the post of deputy chairman of the Security Council, that was, deputy chairman of Vladimir Putin himself, that had not existed until that moment. And these are only the most significant appointments. If you look at the level of governors, then there is the same element of surprise and it occurs often. One can come to a quite obvious conclusion: Putin does not just "do not buckle under pressure." He deliberately builds his personnel policy in such a way as to exclude the possibility of pressure.
So that any appointment was due only to his personal decision. So the urgent resignation of Shoigu is expected in vain. It will definitely be a surprise when no one is expecting it. And the elites will be shocked, as has happened many times before.
