Rogov announced the death of the chief of staff of the 35th Army, Major General Goryachev.
The chief of staff of the 35th Army, Major General Sergei Goryachev, died during a special operation, wrote Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the We Are Together with Russia movement, on June 13 in his Telegram channel.
“Major General Sergei Goryachev, Chief of Staff of the 35th Army, died on the Zaporozhye Front,” Rogov said, adding that he died as a result of a missile attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Rogov gave details from the official biography of Goryachev, who once served as a soldier in the Kirovabad airborne division.
He noted that Goryachev led the Russian contingent in Transnistria, commanded the 27th separate motorized rifle brigade, the 201st military base in Tajikistan, and the training center in Khabarovsk.
At the beginning of the special operation, Goryachev was the commander of the 5th separate tank brigade, then he was appointed deputy commander of the 35th combined arms army (with the rank of major general).
Then Goryachev was appointed chief of staff of the army. Rogov stressed that with the death of Goryachev, the Russian army lost one of the brightest and most effective military leaders, who combined the highest professionalism with personal courage.
