[REGNUM] The 464th day of the special military operation (SVO) in Ukraine has come. It is marked by the news that by the end of 2023, two armies, an army corps, a new naval area, five divisions, 26 brigades and two military districts will be formed in the Russian Armed Forces. According to Deputy Chief of the General Staff Yevgeny Burdinsky , the tasks of increasing the number of armed forces in 2023 must be completed as soon as possible.
Formation of a new military district is significant. In 1991, Russia had 16 military districts. Until this year they had four military districts. This adds another 500,000 men under arms and the resources for an additional 600 combat aircraft.
Also on June 2, it became known that unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Hi-82 aircraft type had successfully passed all the necessary tests. TASS, citing the Oko design bureau, informs that the equipment was tested in the NVO zone on the territory of the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics, and after equipping it with a warhead, it will be fully ready for use in the near future. A total of 12 Hi-82 UAVs will be delivered.
Meanwhile, early in the morning explosions thundered in Kiev and the Cherkasy region. According to the mayor of the Ukrainian capital, Vitali Klitschko , air defense systems are operating in the city, and a "wave" of drones is expected. Today, the Kursk region is also restless: several Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by an air defense system near Kursk.
