Charlie Daniels - 'Still in Saigon' |
2023-05-28 |
[SANDBOXX] Music can often be universal, and veterans are clearly not the only people who suffer from trauma. The song Still in Saigon came out in the 80s when songs about Vietnam were popular. Bruce Springsteen had Born in the U.S.A., Huey Lewis and the News had Walking on a Thin Line, and Charlie Daniels had Still in Saigon which is the only one I really relate to. |

#8 I rewatched the Western Union scene from We Were Soldiers. That was not a good idea after mulling over the Lindsey Graham quote about the value of squandering our cash to help Russians slaughter other Russians. |

#5 Saw this story somewhere yesterday and all I could think of was Willard: "Saigon. Sh*t, I was still in Saigon...." |
