Pakistan-IMF deal: Ishaq Dar hopeful of early signing
2023-04-25
[GEO.TV] Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday said that Pakistain has "fulfilled all the conditions" of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and hoped that the Fund will soon sign the staff-level agreement, paving the way for the release of the $1.1 billion tranche.

The two sides are engaged in tough talks to reach a consensus on multiple conditions since February before signing the deal which also includes external financing from friendly countries.

Speaking to Geo News today, Ishaq Dar said both Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian Peninsula. Until the accession of King Salman the place was under the thumb of Wahhabi holy men and was the driving force behind Salafist terrorism world-wide. Western intelligence agencies, even the dumb ones, were wise to this from at least September 12th, 2001, but politicians were reluctant to upset the international applecart. Once we started assassinating people instead of invading them the Saudis quietly folded the Death to Infidels tent, did some assassinating of their own, started modernizing, and pretended that Osama bin Laden thing had never happened...
and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have informed the IMF about their commitments to provide $3 billion to Pakistain.

Riyadh will provide $2 billion while Abu Dhabi has promised $1 billion to Pakistain, Dar said, adding that the Washington-based lender has also been informed in this regard.

The finance minister said all the conditions for the staff-level agreement between Pakistain and IMF have been fulfilled.

"Pakistain is hopeful that IMF will soon sign the SLA and get it approved by its Executive Board," Ishaq Dar added.

#1  Money down a rat hole. How long has it taken the USAID in just funding a dam essential to the development of the nation's northeast?
