[An Nahar] The Israeli military started striking targets in the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...

Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...

Tensions have been rising in recent days following unrest at Jerusalem's most sensitive holy site — where police stormed the al-Aqsa Mosque and beat Paleostinians who had barricaded themselves inside.

The violence in Jerusalem has led to repeated rocket fire from Gaza. On Thursday, holy warriors in Lebanon fired over 30 rockets into Israel as well.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has promised an "aggressive response."

"We will strike our enemies and they will pay a price for every act of aggression," he said, adding that Israelis remain united in the face of external threats despite their political differences.

There was no immediate Israeli response in Lebanon, where holy warriors fired some 34 rockets across the border. The military said 25 were shot down by its Iron Dome aerial defense system. Five rockets struck Israeli territory and the rest of the strikes were being investigated. Israel said two people were maimed.

The unusually large salvo of rockets raised fears of a wider conflagration, as Israel's bitter enemy, the Iran-backed Hezbollah, holds sway over much of southern Lebanon. Over the past two days, tensions have skyrocketed at the sacred compound home to the al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem and along Israel’s tense border with Gaza.

In a briefing with news hounds, Lt. Col. Richard Hecht, an Israeli military front man, said the army drew a clear connection between the Lebanese rocket fire and the recent unrest in Jerusalem.

"It’s a Paleostinian-oriented event," he said, adding that either the Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®, or Islamic Jihad

Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. murderous Moslem groups, which are based in Gaza but also operate in Lebanon, could be involved. But he said the army believed that Hezbollah and the Lebanese government were aware of what happened and also held responsibility. He declined to say how Israel might respond, saying there were "all sorts of scenarios."
