The Islamic State, also known as the Islamic State in Khorasan province, is the main adversary of the de facto government led by the Taliban.
According to Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban government spokesperson, the operation was conducted in a residential area and targeted IS holy warriors who were preparing to organize strikes in the capital city of Kabul.
After the Taliban seized control of the country in August 2021, the bully boy group has increased its attacks targeting Taliban forces, citizens, foreign nationals and properties.
Last week, a suicide kaboom occurred in Faizabad city of Badakhshan; a day before, a kaboom was reported in the Taloqan capital city of Takhar province; at least four people were killed, and several others were maimed.
