#3   In Lexington, VA there is an unstable, middle aged cat lady who has repeatedly desecrated Stonewall Jackson's grave. No matter how many times it is posted online, this doesn't diminish the man or the magnitude of his accomplishments and character, only the unstable socialist.

It is the same with the Virginia Military Institute. It is gone, and has been for some time. No matter what the current, shabbily costumed re-enactors may say. They can try, in the words of Iowahawk to kill, gut, and skin the Institute and proceed to nance about in it's hide or such few uniform items as they actually possess demanding the centuries' accrued, hard earned respect.

But the Institute, the claustrophobic life in barracks, the life long bonds with your brother rats, the rigid demands of it's Honor system exist in the soft sepia tint of memory only.

The very real, blood, sweat, and tears that were payment required to give life to Jackson's dictum, 'You may be what you resolve to be' aren't so much as an echo.

So all in all, I'd have to say the Institute isn't having any problems at all. At least none that aren't of a similar concern to other ghosts, revenants, and specters.

#1  ...I will simply point out that The Military College Of South Carolina, better known as The Citadel, does not seem to be having these problems.

Funny, that.
