[REGNUM] Russia has imposed retaliatory sanctions on the ongoing expansion by Washington of the list of Russian citizens against whom personal restrictive measures are in place. As reported in the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on February 8, entry into the territory of the Russian Federation is permanently closed for 77 American citizens.
"The “stop list" this time includes US citizens who head government agencies in the states, a number of federal departments, as well as companies involved in the supply of weapons to the neo-Nazi regime in Kiev ," reads a statement from the Foreign Ministry, published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
It is also noted that the sanctions affected not only politicians and officials involved in the formation and implementation of the anti-Russian course, but also some members of their families.
So, in the black list were, in particular, the governors of the states of Alabama (Ellen Ivey), Massachusetts (Charlie Baker), North Dakota (Doug Bergum), Michigan (Joslyn Benson), Kentucky (Andrew Beshear), Wyoming (Mark Gordon), Hawaii (Joshua Green), New Mexico (Michelle Lujan). A total of 31 state governors.
Also on the list are the secretaries of a number of US states, the chairman and members of the Federal Election Commission.
As REGNUM reported , on February 1, the US Treasury expanded sanctions against Russia. Ten individuals and 12 companies associated with Moscow fell under the restrictions. We are talking about citizens of Latvia, Singapore, Russia, Israel, Uzbekistan and Cyprus, as well as companies from countries such as Singapore, Israel, Latvia, Cyprus and Bulgaria.
