#5  The Panama Canal is not very wide. It is not as important as the Suez economically.
I did a Unitas cruise years ago. The South American navies are small.
A single or a couple of Iranian frigates are not much with regard to power projection. They will just run to port if real hostilities break out in Hormuz. If they make it to port, it will be because someone in DC said no.
