  • TALIBAN CLAIM TO HAVE KILLED/ARRESTED ISIS-K CELL RESPONSIBLE FOR KAAJ EDUCATION CENTER ATTACK – Taliban officials announced the conclusion of a security operation in Kabul which targeted an ISIS-K cell in Police District 8. The officials claimed that 6 ISIS-K fighters had been killed and 2 had been captured as a result of two separate operations. The ISIS-K cell was said to have planned and carried out several of the recent terrorist bombings (including the deadly education center blast).

  • TALIBAN CLAIM TO HAVE KILLED 3 ADDITIONAL ISIS-K MEMBERS IN TAKHAR – A Taliban spokesman said a separate operation in Takhar had been successful and 3 ISIS-K fighters had been terminated. No other details were provided and we have yet to confirm this information.

  • TALIBAN ACCUSED OF EXECUTING 10 NRF PRISONERS IN BADAKHSHAN – Resistance sources claim that 10 NRF prisoners who had been captured in the Mayimi District were tortured and shot. Among the dead was Abdul Hamid, a former Taliban commander who had recently defected to the Resistance. A video of the executions is said to be making the rounds on pro-Taliban social media sites but we have yet to confirm its authenticity.

  • UNEXPLODED ORDINANCE KILLS 2, WOUNDS 2 MORE IN PAKTIA - A blast was reported in the Zazi District and is thought to have killed 2 children and wounded 2 more when an unexploded mortar shell was triggered.

  • FORMER BODYGUARD FOR PANJSHIR SPECIAL MILITARY COMMANDER ZAKIR APPOINTED AS NEW COMMANDER – While the former special military commander for Panjshir (Zakir) was thought to have been wounded or killed. Sources in the Ministry of Defense confirmed his former bodyguard, Maulvi Hafez, had been appointed in his place.

Takhar: An unknown group used a magnetic mine to destroy a Taliban patrol vehicle. 2 Talibs were confirmed killed in the blast in Talqan’s third district,
Takhar: A blast targeting Taliban security headquarters in Eshkamesh city killed 5 Taliban and left an unknown number wounded. Headquarters commander Mohammad Sidiq was said to be among the dead.
