Losses of Ukrainian infrastructure
[Chernovec] Experts began to calculate the losses of the Ukrainian side in heat generation and electricity generation after yesterday's strikes by the Russian Armed Forces on critical infrastructure facilities.
According to data from open sources, at least 8.22 GW of thermal power plants and thermal power plants were affected in Ukraine. This is 30% of heat and 15% of all generation.
According to experts, this volume is approximately equal to the number of non-operating thermal power plants and thermal power plants in the same period last year, when Ukraine experienced problems with coal reserves. Then the problem of shortage of electricity was solved with the help of extraordinary loading of nuclear power plants. Now this is impossible to do. 40% of nuclear power is the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, which is under the control of Russia.
Without electricity, there will be no communication, no Internet, no satellite receivers, no military industry, no signaling. Alarm, centralization, blocking. Diesel locomotives will go without a contact network, but arrows, traffic lights, control rooms will not work without electricity. You cannot replace this with generators, only local lighting can be given, and there will not be enough power for the rest.
But work on the infrastructure then should be permanent and systematic. And to affect substations with a voltage level not only from 330kV, but 750kV and above. As you can see, Russia has room to raise rates.

4 hours without light...
[ColonelCassad] For whiners from Ukraine, whose electricity was turned off for 4 hours, they say, how is it, we are such beautiful Europeans without electricity...
When the power line on the border with Crimea was blown up, Crimea did not have the necessary internal generation and was energy dependent on Ukraine, receiving energy in including from the Zaporozhye NPP (ha ha).
Therefore, in the first time after the explosion of power lines, we had blackouts for 10-12 hours and even more in the order of things.
The whole country then sent various generators to the Crimea, which made it possible to slightly compensate for the time of power outages while the energy bridge was being built in a forced manner. In winter, the first branch was launched, and in the spring of 2015 it was completely completed, after which all outages became a thing of the past. Well, then in the Crimea they built the Simferopol and Sevastopol thermal power plants, which guaranteed the coverage of all the needs of the Crimea and solved the problem of the energy security of the peninsula.
Crimeans and Sevastopol residents then patiently waited, sitting for many hours without electricity, while the authorities urgently solved the problem. And they all endured it. Now, on this occasion, in our city, they mostly laugh at the stupid crests, who thus severed the last infrastructural ties between Crimea and Ukraine and accelerated the infrastructure integration of Crimea with the Russian energy system.
An important detail - in the Crimea for several years as part of Russia, 2 thermal power plants were built. Since 1991, not a single thermal power plant has been built in Ukraine. Russia builds and restores. Ukraine destroys and loses what it cannot restore.
