‘The End Of Abundance': Macron Warns Of ‘Great Upheaval' As Europe's Economy Implodes
2022-08-26
[DailyCaller] President Emmanuel Macron warned that the French would face severe food and energy shortages at a cabinet meeting Wednesday as winter approaches and skyrocketing energy prices have crippled Europe’s economy.

Macron told the cabinet that "freedom has a cost," referring to the ongoing war in Ukraine that has inflicted dire consequences on global food and energy prices, Reuters reported. The French government faces a decision to renew electricity and gas price caps that expire at the end of 2022, as winter looms, inflation soars and natural gas from Russia falls to a trickle, raising fears that Russia will shut off gas flows altogether.

#25  Of course the new conscripts will do worse than both the Russian professionals and the first round of Russian conscripts and -stan “voluntolds”, DarthVader, only the survivors of which have survived their experiences in the field.

magpie, Aca Joe only hates you because you are a horrible American, whose country he is personally Reconquisting by having settled in Malibu, CA. He hates me because I am a horrible American whose country he is Reconquisting, Jewish, and can spamcop his posts whenever I find them offensive. This offends his sense of the natural order of the universe, poor man. (Or men, there being a school of thought that he is the face of yet another Russian internet propaganda boiler room, each of whose shifts has a different voice. The alternative being either bipolar disorder or shattered personality disorder.)

#24  Any bets the conscripts do worse than the contract Russian soldiers?

#23  /\ Sorry, TW. I just find his posts ...annoying. If he is correct then it is important news.

#22  /\Dumber than usual ACA "Bagdad Bob" JOE posting.
The Russians have lost an unnecessary number of men, vehicles and matériel because ...why? So they can have an "August 26 emergency meeting" and decide that 'Now we really, really are serious, No Fooling'?

#21  48 Hour Rule, Aca Joe. If verified, that’s a really big deal — where did you see it?

Seriously, thank you for sharing that with us. When you aren’t being a rude, ignorant ass, you bring a lot to the table.

#20  BREAKING NEWS!
President Putin arrived at the Kremlin an hour ago for an emergency meeting of the Security Council and made an important statement for the whole country:

In connection with the ongoing supply of weapons to the Kyiv regime, we have made a serious decision. Back on February 24, the West was warned by me that it was coming for interfering in our special operation and helping the Nazi regime. Until now, in Ukraine, only an insignificant part of our military contingent has been pulled together.
August 27 will begin a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. With the full force of the Russian Federation Army.

#19  Grrrta, when The Abundance fell.

No. That is not safe for work, day care, and most bars.

#14  #11, 12 -- LOL. Fast work, guys.

By the way, there's a tropical storm possibly headed for the Gulf Coast. Let's see what they do about the offshore rigs in a few days.

#13  Globalism started with us, and will end with us along with any deference to the US Constitution. That was the point of Globalism.

#11  Quick, somebody ask Greta Thunberg what the solution is.

How Dare You want to travel where mass transit does not go.
How Dare You want to have fresh food on the table brought to you by functional vehicles!
HowDare You want to travel to visit you friends and families outside of you local enclave!

#10  The emerging Europe is exactly the type of Europe leftists want the US to be "more like."

#9  We should pay attention to what's happening in Europe. This could get very bad in the States.

The US will be fine from a food and energy point of view. Costs will go up and you won't be able to get your dried figs as easily, but we'll be ok other than that. We have uber productive farmland and waterways to travel on along with fracking for our energy needs. Europe doesn't have that. France is the best country in Europe to weather the storm... IF they start leaning on their old colonies in Africa for energy.

This is the breakdown of the old global order set by the Americans that allowed globalization. Now we go back to the Empire days where you tried to keep most of your production and food "in house" in areas you controlled. Most wars were fought over those resources. The US will be in a good position to bribe countries that aren't food secure with their abundance to do what they want. And we'll have a navy to back it up.

#5  Watch Libya flair up. If I read the chart right, in 2021 some 8.2% of EU's petroleum was from Libya. Strangely, nearly the same amount from USA, Kazakhstan. Russia, largest single supplier, 25%.

Natural gas, 2021, Russia nearly 40%. Algeria, third after Norway's 25%, is 8%

They may have boned themselves play Joe Biden's War Game. This EU devaluing; is that from pretend money printed for defense contractors?

Leftist: we should be more sophisticate, like Europeans.

Europeans: I must risk arrest or worse to sneak into The Black Forest and gather fire food.

#4  Ref #2: We should pay attention to what's happening in Europe. This could get very bad in the States.

Start pumping oil and gas again and our situation, and possibly that of Europe, will begin to improve almost immediately.

#3  Yes, but The End of Abundance was and still is a choice.

Sort of a civil war fought with industry, at least at the moment.

Going to have to dust off grand/great-grandparents' memoirs.

[Our forefathers spent much of the post WW2 period to insure reliable energy and food. The subsequent generations have spent their time undermining all that work.]
