"Somali National Army killed 25 al-Shabaab holy warriors in a special operation near Bukure village under Mahas district of Hiiraan region in the past 24 hours, SNA commanders confirmed, " state media confirmed in a Tweet.

Since Hassan Sheikh Mohamud took over as the president of Somalia, the ay [sic] has brightened campaigns against the Death Eaters, with the president urging the military to crush the group completely. There have been fierce exchanges between al-Shabaab and the government.

For instance, during his trip to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
, President Hassan Sheikh vowed to continue using military and economic suffocation tactics against the Death Eaters, ruling out any possible negotiations in the coming months. However,
a clean conscience makes a soft pillow...
he noted that perhaps in the future, the government will negotiate.

On their part, al-Shabaab through their group leader Ahmed Diriye dismissed Hassan Sheikh as a sympathizer and vowed to fight his administration. The group also denied claims by the president that it was sponsoring terror groups in Nigeria and Mozambique.

President Hassan Sheikh said he was keen to ensure that all the revenue loopholes used by the gunnies are completely sealed, adding that this will effectively degrade them. The group has been fighting for the last 15 years in Somalia and neighboring countries.
