#10 These idiots really have NO concept of the whole process and how things affect each other. Every step of the way costs more....resulting in higher prices. Not too mention that 'profit' winds up getting used to pay for the drilling to continue. An offshore rig in the gulf costs 1 million PER DAY whether it's drilling or not. You also have to plan on things like hurricanes and loop currents which don't permit you to drop the BOP, so you sit there waiting for -6- weeks until you can do it....at 1 million per DAY. |

#5 With prices like that you know they won't be stopping by anymore for a full tank and the one true pleasure of pulling off at Earth before hitting the ol' Hyperspace Expressway, a bag of Chuckwagons. |

#3 I love asking our Tree-Huggers and Democrats around here. Why is it BAD to drill for oil here, pump it to the the refinery for processing? But is environmentally acceptable to ship it 1/2 way around the world, risk the polluting our coastal shores and rivers. Only to pumped it out of a ship to the same pipelines to be refined here? |
