US court chief confirms authenticity of draft abortion opinion published in Politico |
2022-05-04 |
Yesterday the leaked draft and the spontaneous, grassroots protests. Today the confirmation and the hunt for the miscreant. [IsraelTimes] US Supreme Court...the political football known as The Highest Court in the Land, home of penumbrae and emanations... Chief Justice John Roberts issues a statement confirming the authenticity of a draft opinion published by Politico, which indicated that the top legal panel is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade. Roberts calls the leak a "betrayal" and "singular and egregious betrayal of trust," but insists that it "will not succeed" in undermining the court’s integrity. He says he has ordered an investigation to determine the identity of Politico’s source. |

#15 likely an ambitious lefty staffer but it is also possible that the file was obtained by a cyber theft or by a conservative really should await conclusive evidence |

#8 #7 Judging by the instantaneous and utterly uniform response, I would have to say that the identity is not only known but known well in advance of the event. After all, the serfs were beginning to get wise to St Volodymir of Kiev and the regime's desire to give him in excess of 100% of their national tax revenues to 'defend the sanctity of their sacred border against invasion'. Then again I hear there's some kind of movie coming out... |

#6 #4 - If Roberts really wanted to find out who leaked he wouldn't have assigned it to the SCOTUS Marshal, which has no subpoena power and is assigned with security, not investigations |

#4 Someone in the SCOTUS Staff is going to jail. Publishing court case discussions and documents prior to Official Release is a Felony. The obstruction of justice in the federal courts is governed (18 U.S.C.A. §§ 1501–1517), which protects the integrity of federal judicial proceedings as well as agency and congressional proceedings. But what IF one of the more "liberal" Justices leaked the documents? |
