#2  The Russians dread enduring the cold years of war. They however will endure. Putin is playing the long game. Right or wrong Putin is no Hitler. He has a plan. He has the will to proceed. My interest now is China. They want Taiwan. So as things develop they will strike when the time is right. Putin will stop but after Taiwan China will move on.

#1  Russia has been able to maintain a significant tempo in artillery bombardment - so far.

On paper they have well over a thousand units some new, some early cold war. How many are usable -- a big unknown.

Ukraine knocks a few to a dozen out each day but that leaves plenty.
