2022-04-26
[CitizenFreePress] As Beijing's biggest district began mass COVID testing, concerns around food supplies and a possible lockdown prompted residents to clear supermarket shelves as they panic-bought groceries and other supplies.

#7  Could be China is Asshole.

*Dons Al Chapeau*

There is a program or series of programs which allow a phone to ping a tower without leaving a serial number or location, undermining the Social Credit Score Program. By shuffle people about and by extreme isolation like a giant 3-Card Monty they can figure by process of association and elimination which phones, therefore which people, are using this software.

#6  just a guess

but my theory is that the Chinese ruling class, which is almost all 50+ and mostly 60+ (Xi Jinping is almost 70) thinks extreme quashing of the virus protects them (that is the ruling class)

come to think of it, this may also apply in lesser degree to the USA ruling class

#5  They do seem to be going nutty over there. Pretty much everyone else is done with the Covid thing. Makes me wonder if there is something here we don't know about, some little tidbit that makes it all clear.

#4   China is proactively crippling it's own economy.

To be fair, we did so first — they’re just catching up. It does make me wonder, though: if their population has already passed the inflection point, what benefits them by killing off more faster? Rebalancing with fewer old and less robust? Or is this “Après moi, le déluge”?

Having seen the photos of the CCP long lines for MASS TESTING. Aren't the lines just spreading the virus quicker?

#2  as Skid notes, Shanghai's lockdown is probably the worst case senario

but about a dozen other cities in China are various lockdowns

China is proactively crippling it's own economy. The Shanghai index is down about 20% in 2022 (as compared to the NYSE which is down about 4% in that time period) and China's main street economy is probably down 40%.
