| Civilian kill by landmine in Afrin |

AFRIN, Syria (North Press) – One person of the Turkish-controlled region of Afrin, northern Syria, was killed yesterday evening in explosion of a landmine between south of the region. The 52-year-old Mustafa Arab was killed in the explosion of a landmine between Kimar and Soghana villages in Sherawa district, south of Afrin, special source told North Press. The vicinity of the two villages is planted with landmines, the source added saying, “Turkish intelligence and Turkish-backed opposition factions plant landmines to prevent Afrin residents getting out.” The city of Afrin and its villages, northern Syria, have been controlled by Turkish forces and the affiliated factions since March 2018. Since then, the region has been witnessing ongoing security chaos accompanied by infighting among militants of the Turkish-backed factions, arrests, and kidnappings amid the factions’ disability to settle the security and spread safety.
