2022-02-14

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, the de-escalation zones in northwest Syria witnessed military escalation and exchange of shelling between the Syrian government forces and Turkish-backed opposition factions.

The opposition factions’ sites in the towns of Kansafra, al-Bara, Sufuhn, al-Fatira, Benin and Harsh Benin in the Zawiya Mountain area, south of Idlib, were hit with artillery and missiles by the government forces, North Press reported military sources in the opposition.

The bombing resulted in the death of a person in the town of Kansafra, according to the same sources.

The opposition factions’ sites near the towns of San and Madelia, east of Idlib, the town al-Enkawi, west of Hama, were also bombed by the government forces, the sources added.

In Turn, the government forces’ sites in the town of Miznaz in the western countryside of Aleppo, were hit with heavy artillery and missiles by al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room,” the sources added.

Following days of relative decrease in the military actions, the mutual bombing between the government and the opposition escalated, without changing in the map of control on the ground.
