Banned From School, Afghan Girls Gather in Homes to Learn
2021-12-14
Forward to the past!
[ToloNews] Schools in Afghanistan remain off-limits to many girls between grades 7 and 12, but some girls have continued their lessons at home.

The News Agency that Dare Not be Named reported that women teachers were meeting at unknown locations in Kabul and teaching girls inside homes.

"The Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
allowed just boys to go to schools but don’t allow girls to go to school," said Atefa, a student speaking to AP.

"I am a teacher (at) a school. But now, after the coming of Taliban, the schools for girls are closed," said Zakia, a teacher, "because the students must study, we created a small course at home, so the students come here hiddenly."

When the Islamic Emirate swept into power, schools and universities were closed. However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
schools soon reopened for boys of all ages--as well as for both boys and girls up to grade 6--but girls and young women in grades 7-12 in many provinces are still not allowed to attend school.

"There is still hope. We students will continue our path. We will bravely go forward and will not stop. We will continue our education," said Asinat, a student who would be in grade 12.

Schools allowing the attendance of girls in grades 7-12 are opened in eight of 34 provinces.

#4  That will unfortunately happen sooner rather than later, TW.

They may keep a 'Theresienstadt' example around for international consumption, though.

#3  It’s good that they realize the new government will continu to prevent them from continuing their schooling and they are making other arrangements. It probably won’t be much longer before they have to actively hide what they are doing.

#2  ^ True, but for the past 20 years, Afghan girls going to school has been the singular focus of the Deep Star/MSM.

#1  Seriously, this story is played out. Seems to me they have alot more shit to worry about than going to school.
