#6  "Less than a mile from the Canadian border" -- that describes most of downtown Detroit and a good portion of the suburbs. But to actually cross the border, you'd have to get across the river -- and Great Lakes shipping is shut down for the season, so they'd stand out -- or take the bridge or tunnel. All traffic across either the tunnel or bridge has to stop at customs and immigration, so that's not an escape route, either.

#4  They are guilty of utter stupidity and gross negligence at the very least. It's looking like the school administration wasn't far behind, using the same "restorative discipline" approach that kept Nickolas Cruz in a regular public school when he clearly belonged somewhere else.
