Beto O'Rourke To Run For TX Governor In 2022
2021-11-15
Another chapter begins in the Democrat wet dream of turning Texas into a blue state...
[Guardian UK] - Beto O’Rourke, a former congressman, Senate candidate and contender for the Democratic presidential nomination, will run for governor in Texas next year.

O’Rourke, 49, is seeking to take on Greg Abbott, the Republican governor who is pursuing a third term.

Abbott is seen as more vulnerable than previously, given demographic changes and events including the failure of much of the Texas power grid in very cold weather in February this year, which led to numerous deaths.

"I’m running for governor," O’Rourke announced on Monday. "Together, we can push past the small and divisive politics that we see in Texas today — and get back to the big, bold vision that used to define Texas. A Texas big enough for all of us."

'Divisive politics' - like vowing to take everybody's gun away?

#9  I'm seeing Blotto using this as his chance to fund his long term plans. All that out of state money and such. Plus, no actual working politician is up for taking that third coat of 'loser shellac'.
Short of the feds 'stimulating' a massive wuflu outbreak or a major event on the power grid this winter, it ain't happening.

#8  ...hmmm, I'm normally against taxes per se, but how about taxing political donations if they got so much to throw around.

#6  in 2018 Beto spent about $80M in his bid to knock out Cruz (Cruz spent about $45M)

He dropped out of the 2020 contest in Nov 2019 before a single primary or caucus. I think he spent about $30M

#5  O'Rourke is currently associated in some way with a PAC 'poweredbypeople'

basically they get donations and most of those donations are used to fund campaigns of Democrats

#4  The Donks have found their Harold Edward Stassen. Maybe he should try for the local school board. Oh, wait, never mind.

#3  The plus side is, there will be a lot of progressive and establishment money sunk into his abortion of a political race.
