Britain
Prince Willy questions space exploration
2021-10-19
James I introduced a really stubborn gene for stupid into the British line. It does skip a generation or two now and then, but it keeps popping up.
[RT] Whether it comes from royalty or your local high-school dropout, casting doubt on the worth of space research is an exercise in shortsighted foolishness. It’s delivered many technical advances that have improved our lives greatly.

I don’t recall ever seeing a member of Britain’s Royal Family honored for his or her stirring scientific scholarship. That doesn’t mean Her Majesty and family are necessarily stupid. In fact, there’s no old lady on this planet I’d kick with an insult like that, let alone HRH.

#12  A rat done bit my brother Hank,
(with whitey on the run)
A rabid Democratic... Yank!
(and whitey's on the run)
"I cannot pay no doctor bill..."
(but whitey's on the run)
"Coz 'ealf care don't cost nuffink, Will!"
(while whitey's on the run)
Etc.

#11  "Coulda been worse," or, The Drear New North End

Sing, brutalist British-bred Eros,
Of centuries of Engländer Neros,
Of courtyards austere,
[Here was hanged Paul Revere.]
And your indolent underclass Dearos!

#10  Dr. Who to the contrary, Britain isn’t in the space business, so the future crown prince’s opinion isn’t going to change anything. After all, his father loathes modern architecture, and his own people are still putting up those awful buildings.

#9  Well, Prince you can join the dinosaurs. The rest of us are interested in spreading the species to other locales. The school of fish theory, you can't get them all.

#8  I think that ultimately is what sold it for me – that really is quite crucial to be focusing on this [planet] rather than giving up and heading out into space to try and think of solutions for the future.”

Dunno. Harvesting an asteroid containing trillions in rare metals sure would be better for the Earth than digging a giant pit and all the miners' ails, all to construct stupid phones so dribble like yours can be witnessed.

#6  I thought we fought a war to keep from having to pay attention to British royalty. Did we lose?

#5  How will we ever get around to spacing guys like this if space travel doesn't become routine. Let alone the planet colonization scheme from The Marching Morons?

#3  bringing in the bloodline of an "exotic D-list actress" probably won't help, either

#2  It does skip a generation or two now and then, but it keeps popping up.

With inbreeding of the small island royalty apparently it sometimes becomes a dominant gene.

#1  Chamberlain's actions and name became a synonym for failure. The obvious excellent leadership of Churchill left a bad taste. Smith was summarily betrayed. Dr. Christiaan Neethling Barnard was no Liverpool footballer. Then there was Camilla Parker Bowles's. The more recent antics and character missteps of Andrew have yet to be fully revealed. Much of anything American generally produces a less than positive response. Perhaps they cannot get the successful young man Musk out of their nostrils either.

Give them a healthy severance package, pack them all off to exile in Balmoral and be done with it.
