Spirit Airlines cancels more than 200 flights in a single day: Thousands of stranded passengers complain of being hot and hungry as they're forced to sit on airport floors for hours with no idea of when their planes will take off
2021-08-03
  • Spirit Airlines canceled 165 flights on Sunday and more than 200 on Monday, 30% of flights nationwide

  • Passengers were left stranded throughout cities such as San Juan, Orlando, Miami and Fort Lauderdale

  • Dozens of travelers took to Twitter to vent their frustrations while they waited for updates from the airline

  • Photos and videos showed the travelers seated on the ground as they complained of being hot and hungry in packed terminals

  • A Spirit spokeswoman blamed the cancellations on weather and 'other operational challenges.

  • The spokeswoman denied rumors that they may have been impacted by a pilot strike
Does this have anything to do with the shortage of jet fuel that was reported recently?
