#11  I saw plenty of evictions around me during the whole pandemic.

#10  About 40 years ago, we moved to a new house, but couldn't sell our old town house right away. We rented it out for about 3 years to a succession of tenants, each one worse than the previous one. When we finally formally evicted the last tenant, the sheriff's deputy who accompanied me said he was considering buying a rental property and would I recommend it. I told him that I would burn the place to the ground rather than rent again.
In New York at the time, it was very difficult to actually evict someone, even if they didn't pay rent. Of course, I still had to pay taxes and other fees even if the tenant didn't pay rent.

#9  ...don't recall the local governments suspending property taxes while the landlord has no income from the property.

#8  Ask the landlords, the ones who actually have 'skin' in this, how they're doing during the moratorium.

#7  It's just a shame the economic mayhem can't be targeted only at the people who voted for it.

#6  Evictions are only part of it. A friend who is renting a two bedroom townhouse, in a pleasant but not exclusive neighbourhood, was informed last month that her rent was being increased $700/month. She’s been looking around, but says there are very few apartments available to rent in the area, and all are similarly priced.

#5  The MSM is about to spew forth a thousand stories about tiny tots being forced out into driving snowstorms while being pursued by carloads of white supremacists. This is red meat for AOC, who sees Pelosi rather than the Republicans as the Main Enemy.

#4  Evictions expected to spike as federal moratorium ends

#3  The taking by the government without just compensation. Little ditz can't read the document she swore to cause to her and her kind, its an obstruction to power (as it was designed to be).
