Leak reveals Chinese Communist Party members working in Aust, UK and US consulates
2020-12-14
[Auzzie Sky News] A data leak has uncovered at least ten Shanghai consulates have Chinese Communist Party members in senior positions.

An exclusive report by Sharri Markson in The Australian revealed some of the CCP members have been employed in the consulates - including the Australian, British and American consulates - for up to sixteen years.

While there is no evidence of spying for the Chinese government, intelligence officials have labelled it a breach of protocol and a risk to national security.

Update from yesterday's story which is found at this link.

I can only speak definitively about the diplomatic realm. I suspect the private sector knew that many of the folks they hired were party members. It follows that the most educated, connected people are going to be members of the party. If the private sector didn't see that, shame on them.

Mais non, ma cherie. Tu as:

- the doctrine of globalism.

We and the Chinese are Global Citizens. No more icky Cold Ear thinking about incompatible systems or political cultures. We're all God's Woke's Children, all striving for "a more just, peaceful and verdant world"

- the logic of Global Capitalism.

Da world be flat!! Bring in Chinese H1Bs -- they're cheap, and they can't switch employers!! More Chinese PhDs!
Virtue points + Lower labor costs = DoublePlusGood!

- the weird illogic but mystical spell of Wokery.

Russians, Israelis = White Supremaciss
Chinesers, Musselmani = heroic victims of White Supremacissery

ergo, the more Chinese (( spies agents sleepers honeypots )) in this country, the more we expunge our Oroginal Sin of
R A Y C I S S -um

Pay no attention to that slant-eye behind the curtain! Russkies! BOO!!!

#7   This has been going on - overtly - for decades.

So basically the kind of thing that has always gone on in totalitarian/Communist countries? But the infiltration of Western companies is more thorough than I would have expected.

#6  How many of those Chicoms embedded themselves into SolarWinds and its "supply chain"? Anybody checking on that? Anybody?

#5  "...some of the CCP members have been employed in the consulates - including the Australian, British and American consulates - for up to sixteen years."

Uhhh - nothing new here. This has been going on - overtly - for decades. Foreign consulates in the PRC were FORCED to hire local nationals from the Diplomatic Service Bureau - a one stop shop for all your HR solutions! Of course they were party members. How else wold they even be allowed to apply for the job? We knew that going in. Again nothing new here re: employees at consulates. We ASSUME everyone of them gets a thorough talking to on a regular basis.

Sorry to say but most intelligence officials seem to focus on the "official" part and neglect the "intelligence" part. Working level is good to go in my experience.

#4  Can someone explain what good are the US intel agencies? One coup pulled off by the CIA? One analysis that merits the money we pour into NSA. Forget the FBI because it has failed to get its fascist notions under control. To paraphrase, I think it was Lyndon Johnson: They couldn't pour piss out of a boot if the directions were written on the heel.

#3  Easy way to shut the bastids off, simply close the facility. Or, if you were a bit devious, you could leave them open and launch a nifty, bilateral disinformation campaign.

I'd be going with bilateral disinformation campaign.

Hahaha, that's a good one! Pull my finger.

Actually, every one that is stupid enough to hire Chinese, local or immigrant citizens.
