Do the numbers justifying crippling new lockdowns REALLY stand up to scrutiny?

#12  Case mortality is FAKE NUMBERS. Stop it! 35 is misleading and unreal. Try Infection Mortality Rate. Its less than 0.03% in otherwise healthy people under the age of 65.

#10  #2 If you hate lockdowns, you have to love masks & distancing.

#9  I would expect numbers to climb if economic activity increased.

#5  ^The idea that there is no herd immunity just doesn't seem to penetrate into the minds of "covid sceptics". Just like the idea that Earth's temperatures are determined by the Sun cycle doesn't seem to penetrate the minds of AGW faithful.

#2  Original mortality (total deaths/total 'cases') estimate was 3.2%. World to-date is 2.8%, US is 2.7%, NY is 6.4% and TX is 2.0%. Deaths are highly skewed towards the elderly. I think it is clear this is a disease to avoid, but it is not clear to me how effective various measures like masks and lockdowns are - and they are not without their own costs, both economic and health. (One could even say they sacrifice the essential people to protect the effete.)
