#16  Lockdowns are meant to impact the rate at which it spreads through a population. That's it. No one has seriously argued that loackdowns, masks, etc. will make the thing go away. They won't.

Fatality rate has nothing to do with how quickly the virus spreads (unless your healthcare system gets overwhelmed). It has to do with treatment, demographics, health of the population in general, etc.

So, we are talking about two different things here.

#13  ^Assuming Freudian projection - a tenable working hypothesis in this particular case - much becomes clear.

#12  have you been personally testing heavy concentrations of alcohol in the blood as an anti-viral?

#11  #9 Franky, my beamish boy, I tried to explain to you geniuses that there is no Herd Immunity six months ago. Well, they have AGW, and you have Herd Immunity.

#10 falsely thinks exponential works when you can't have more infection than people

A true and significant point - if you are not people. Are you, not-people, BP?

#10  Og geez our lockdown fanatic who can't do maths for biology (falsely thinks exponential works when you can't have more infection than people) now thinks you can't stop a virus when there's no-one around to catch it...

Just wait until they work out how vaccines work, it'll be lockdown forever to prevent the scary virus that extends life expectancy by a year.

#9  :-) I knew you would get spun up on this. Now it appears you agree with the WHO head owned and operated by China:
Who is in charge at the World Health Organization these days and do they really have any science to back up their various guidelines for how we’re supposed to behave during the pandemic? Their latest decree, coming from Tedros Ghebreyesus, states that the concept of herd immunity is not only ineffective but “immoral” and “ethically problematic.” via Hotair

#8  #7 I was replying to #5.

#6 Brazil is a fuckin shithole Just like the major cities in the US..

Implying that no lockdown/no masks will work in USA the same way it's working in Brazil?
Posted by: g(r)omgoru   2020-10-13 12:06

#7  ^As I said, Belgium was one of the first hit. The bulk of the casualties is BEFORE they imposed lockdown. Brazil was one of the last hit. And, about their medical system - according to wordometers, they've 3% mortality now (USA has 4%).

Why can't you people get it - Herd Immunity is exactly like AGW: a theory that some people chose to believe in (for their reasons) despite total absence of evidence!

#6  Brazil is a fuckin shithole . Just like the major cities in the US. Could that have something to do with it grom

#5  Perspective from Worldometers. Deaths per million population:

Belgium - 880
Brazil - 708
USA - 664
Sweden - 583
Israel - 220

I wonder how Brazil's health system compares to the other countries, listed above?

#4  Once Sweden didn't empty their hospitals into old people homes they did well...

So It seems not protecting the elderly is the key. How about Africa... I thought it was supposed to be terrible there, but the MSM dropped it as the scare p0rn failed to materialise, probably as the population is younger...

#3  As I understand it, once Belgians imposed lockdown, they did OK. So, to go back to Brazil ...

#2  We don't hear much from Locked down Belgium either.

Mass Lockdown is a total disaster.

Herd immunity for the under 60s (plus targetted protection for COVID risks) is cheaper safer and less-risky. It's just less profitable for the rent-seeking vaccine and patent pushers.

#1  There were two major countries that rejected the very idea of lockdown. Sweden & Brazil. For some odd reason, we don't hear anything about Brazil from "covid-sceptics". I wonder why?
