#5 when will architects take into account the abilities of fire departments to deal with fires in such structures. The same day Appliance Manufacturers take into account Maintenance and Installation. Fires on the Windward Side easily jump floors, the wind pushing into balconies, repeat. That fire pressure has to go somewhere and the more 'fire resistant' the apartment the more that exhaust has to go into the wind. It is a science, but it is also crazy counter-intuitive at times. |
