| #12 Only satellites in geostationary orbit care about parking spots and I would think they are so far away that the magnetic field would be irrelevant. |

| #10 @rjschwarz Hard to say. More cosmic rays incoming. So possibly a lot more clouds and resulting cooling and changes in weather patterns. It could last a long time. Bird migration affected. |

| #7 Women and minorities hit worse... So what would be the practical effect of this flip? no protection from solar radiation for x days? Earthquakes? We have to paint N on the S of our compasses? And how are satellites malfunctioning because of it because that doesn't compute in my head. |

| #6 If the poles are in the process of reversing it will happen over several thousand years, according to scientists, who say it's unlikely the field will disappear completely. Unlikely. So they say. Happens every 250K years, but last time was 750K years ago. So, we are rather more than overdue. |
