They Can't Stop Us from Re-Opening America
2020-04-21
It's Kurt
[Townhall] We're going to come out of this nightmare whether the Democratic politicians like it or not. The pandemic is subsiding, so America is done with this lockdown nonsense, and the inevitable re-opening is coming. It will start out slow, then get faster, then get very, very fast, and then get finished. That's how these things happen. But it won't happen without #resistance. The lib establishment and its media gerbils clearly think it's in their interest to have the Bat Gobbler flu crisis continue indefinitely. They think it hurts Trump, plus they really love wielding power over you. Just look into the dead doll eyes of Governor Karen (D-Minncounsinigan) and you can see that forcing big box stores to tape off the seed section gives her a kind of erotic pleasure. It's kind of creepy.

But people aren't having any more of this Schiff. We're done. We could deal with it when it looked like a commonsense thing to do, but now it's just getting stupid. Things are getting better and they are doubling down on the social distance Stasi act. You got police departments tweeting that protest isn't essential, but apparently being petty fascist
...anybody you disagree with, damn them...

#10  Nancy does not have immunity, COVID-19 has rejected her.

#9  In SERE school the drew a line and said we cant cross it. No rule to enforce it. It took a while to learn that arbitrary is just that. Looks like we have found out its unenforceable. Time to just go back to work and let the dems scream and yell, to themselves.

#8  They can't stop us, but they are sure gonna give it their all. Already, we're seeing the overreach in this effort. Dems have already announced their plans. Noone should be surprised at what follows.

#7  I'm hopeful that reopening in some states (like SC) will have an influence.

However, brace yourselves for the news media shrieking like banshees about every last death in a state that reopens. I'm debating whether I even want to turn on the TV tonight.

#6  Kurt's right. You cannot have 32% unemployment (recent prediction by a top economist at the St Louis Federal Reserve Bank) and still have a functioning democracy.

Either we end our democracy - let's hope it isn't violent but anyone with any grasp of history and social psychology knows that's unlikely - or the elites end the lockdown. Take your pick.

More likely outcome is that the lockdowns will collapse rapidly, as they've already started to do across the southern red states.

Probably will be triggered when researchers dig deep into the data to show that the COVID deaths were inconsistently and improperly coded; that other urgent care needs were neglected (thereby causing still more deaths); and that targeted restrictions would have saved almost as many lives without pushing us into insane levels of unemployment and mass impoverishment.

#5  And it will be necessary to be on the lookout for SAPHOS - Self Appointed Public Hygiene Officers - who will whine and moan about pretty much anything that doesn't look like permanent quarantine.

#4  HCQ and hard immunity to shield the vulnerable.

#3  He's half right. There will have to be a reckoning with any politician in any executive role from either party who let the power go their head. I'm reasonably confident that will happen in time, at least in some places.

But unfortunately this doesn't look over yet. We shouldn't kid ourselves. The daily infection and death rate numbers may be flattened, but they haven't started going down. And the number of new cases and deaths *is* going up each day at consistent rate. Not exponentially, but consistently.

It doesn't look like hot weather affects the virus, or that it shows any sign of "burning out" on its own yet. Which leaves us all with some hard choices to consider, and no simple path forward.

#2  If Nancy is holding things up it says she's not worried about CV.
