Vindman fired, escorted out of White House after Trump acquittal

[FOXNEWS] Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, who made waves as a witness during the Trump impeachment proceedings, was fired Friday by the National Security Council and escorted off of the White House grounds, Fox News has confirmed.

Vindman was on detail to the National Security Council from the Department of Defense, and it is expected he will return there. It comes just two days after President Trump was acquitted in the Senate on the impeachment charges brought by the House last year over his dealings with Ukraine.

In a lengthy statement, Vindman’s attorney, David Pressman, confirmed that Vindman had been escorted out of the White House on Friday.

"There is no question in the mind of any American why this man’s job is over, why this country now has one less soldier serving it at the White House," Pressman said. "LTC Vindman was asked to leave for telling the truth. His honor, his commitment to right, frightened the powerful."

A senior administration official also told Fox News that Vindman’s twin brother Lt. Col. Yevgeny Vindman has also left the National Security Council. Yevgeny Vindman was assigned to the office that vetted publications like former national security adviser John Bolton’s book ‐ though he has said he was not involved in the vetting of the Bolton manuscript.

The news comes after reports that the White House was weighing options to dismiss Vindman from the NSC in an effort to shrink its foreign policy bureaucracy. Bloomberg reported Thursday that the White House planned to frame Vindman’s exit as part of an NSC staff downsizing, not retaliation.

#21  *off topic

Had a chili cook-off some years back. As with all chili cook-offs, there is always that one who make it hotter than hell, and there is always a line of bucks willing to show they can eat it.

Only myself and one other were able to eat a bowl of this.

That being said, there is a restaurant we like which serves vindaloo. We were in this town and I tell the Mrs, "Put the order in, I'll start heading that way, and it will be done shortly after I arrive. If they ask How Spicey? tell them to make it like they like it."

So I get there and am greeted at the door, "Hello, you must be Mr. Kansas. Please sit down, have a beer, your food is almost ready."

These people don't know me from boo, so my spider sense is pinging. Food is done, get home, arrange feast.

I'm quite hungry at this point, and after everyone else gets set, I grab my spoon and scoop a big ol bite.

It is important to note here, I am not 24 hours into a significant altitude change higher.

So I take this bite, and immediately spider sense calls me a dumbass for not listening. As the inferno envelopes every surface area of my mouth, I try counter-flooding with deep inhales through the nose. Naturally, I get a nose bleed.

To prevent myself from drowning, I begin gasping through the mouth while bending forward to control the bleeding. Presently, I get my food swallowed and am breathing like a barking seal but I am alive.

Except, General Vindaloo launched a recon in force into my nasal cavity via my tonsils and hid amongst the bleeding, and came out my nostrils.

Smokey, I had entered a world of pain. I'm flailing, wife has gone into ER mode, kids are confused, dogs 1/4 mile away were hiding under tables. I managed to not soil myself, and regained control. I finished the meal, the vindaloo, chicken, was absolutely delicious.

As the saying goes, knowing is half the battle.

Agree. Son-in-law is part owner of a restaurant (BHUNA) in Portland that serves some great vindalooo (though not chicken, IIRC.)

Though not as good a message as a transfer to Fort Greely (Thule AFB may sound better, but AF generally scores sweeter digs than Army (who scores way sweeter than Marines but I would not wish that a** on the Marines.))

#16  Did I mention, it was our tax money that went to Ukraine in the form of aid before being laundered and then sent back to the U.S. A Slick and Schiffty shiffty operation.

#15  #13 Most likely (in the recent past), money would be funneled into the U.S. from Ukraine to pay these people such as CBF and the Colonel after it was laundered through some foundation.

#13  What's the over/under on Lt. Col. ("Don't call me Shirley!") Vindman's book deal? $500,000?

That's the old school way to do it. It's what I thought Christine Blasley-Ford would do. But these days they just set up a GoFundMe page.

#11  Trump should just fire any political appointees and and appointees who burrowed from the previous administration
There should be no holding overs from the Zero administration in the Executive Branch
I hope this is the beginning of the end of the leaks

Well Counselor, many think your client is a full-blown a$$hole and deserves more than re-assignment.

#8  As military Vindman broke rules to testify. Also he had no first hand knowledge so his testimony was pointless. The military needs a rule that says "too stupid to serve".

Either that or send him to Antarctica to finish out his service.

$10 on the over. I'm good for it!
