Beto O'Rourke Announces Support for Menstrual Equity Act on National Period Day
2019-10-20
[PJ] Not to be outdone by Cory Booker's "women are people" moment in the last debate, Beto O'Rourke decided to virtue signal his pro-woman accolades on Saturday by tweeting that "women across America don’t have access to the period products they need," and since it is #NationalPeriodDay (who knew that was a thing?), that "men need to join women in demanding real change." Beto wants "real change" and identifies as a man for the moment (at least until he needs a Hail Mary for his campaign) and he's announced his support for the Menstrual Equity Act.

And yes, it appears that the Menstrual Equity Act is a real thing. H.R. 1882, otherwise known as the Menstrual Equity For All Act of 2019. Apparently Beto thinks women across America have never heard of a pharmacy. Oh but wait, this absurd legislation isn't just for women! According to GovTrack, this legislation will "increase the availability and affordability of menstrual hygiene products for individuals with limited access, and for other purposes."

#16  Yes. That, and their initiative in reforming what they could of islam, by introducing equality of the sexes and and opposing genital mutilation of women. They were too effete for the hair-on-your-chest islam of the common sasquatch though. Maybe we should give them an option, our muslims. 'You can become Bahaúllah sect muslims, we have no problem.'

#15  Ours in America are sweetly earnest and ignorant as pigs in mud about the religions they claim to be the endpoint of. Td#2 found herself frequently pointing out that the latest thing they claimed to have invented we Jews had been doing for 3,000+ years. But Baha’i is a 150 year old Muslim heresy from the depths of Iran, so it’s understandable the darlings haven’t got a clue. On the other hand, they have no drive to jihad, so that’s a nice change.

#14  Well, God bless your little wise Jewess.

I found the Baha'is abjectly dumb. Like hindus.

#13  She was a wonderful teen. The other kids considered her their Wise Jewess, and consulted her opinion on everything. Td #2 used to tell me their discussions, and then we’d talk about the Jewish perspective on the subject. She looked up the Baha’i group at her university but was severely disappointed at how close-minded they were, unlike the group of friends she had clearly influenced for the better.

#12  I was a Tang™️ boy myself.

Hmmm... Bahaí Bab kissers, eh ? My sympathies for the hard times she musta given you.☺ Pesky teens.

#11  Perhaps it’s that Republicans are Nazis, unwanted Democrats are Russian tools.

#10  TW beat me to the bullet hole thingy.

Not from personal experience, Dron66046, but it has been discussed here along with other useful makeshifts.

Here is one you might find useful, from 2007:

Instead of Gatorade
In the Sonora Desert in summer, with water consumption about 5 gallons per man per day, we got into the habit of carrying around ampules with a mix of 1 teaspoon each of sugar, salt and baking soda.

When added to 1 quart or canteen of water, it would instantly absorb through the stomach, while keeping your blood salts balanced, though it tasted like crap.

Trailing daughter #2 took a supply of this mixture with her on a 500 mile bicycle trip she made with her Baha’i youth group (long story, but she was one of the founding members, along with a friend who was a member of the faith). She was the only one who didn’t get heat exhaustion along the way.

I thought it was the Bee too. These people... they're either really stupid or so egoistic they think the public is dumber.

#8  Tampons for bullet holes, now cheaper than ever. For those living in the inner city or California, this would be a major cost savings. Surely they'll be singing about this on YouTube the way a previous generation sang about presidential help with mortgages and heating bills, or whatever it was that electing Barack Obama to the presidency would get them.

#4  I have a theory about Beto.
He married a heiress - envisioning a life of ease & luxury. But wife's family pushes him into politics - to increase family's fortune. So this is his version of work-to-rule.

#3  Shouldn't he start on the bipartisan issue (male and female alike) for bogroll?

I mean there must be a shortage of arsewipes?
