#6 Probably the same reason the Israeli corvette took a hit from a Hezbollah cruise missile because it had its Phalanx CIWS system off - to avoid friendly/civilian casualties. My guess is they have a lot of false readings from civilian planes and drones routinely overflying the area. Don't want to accidentally splash a civilian jetliner a la the Iranian passenger jet disaster from the 80's. #4 Inshalla If you don’t turn them on, they will always work. So you have a great maintence and readiness record, and no one has to evaluate your skill in operating and maintenance. Perfect career plan, except if they actually were intended to stop an actual attack. Sound familiar? |
